Hello,
I am looking for an image viewer that accomplishes 4 things:
1. Let's me change from one picture to another using the arrow keys
2. Supports animated .GIF files
3. Opens by double clicking 1 image
4. Let's me set a selected image as background
Think of how the default picture and slideshow viewer works in Windows 7. I can open up my wallpapers folder (currently has over 1200 pics in it), double click one picture, then go through each one in full screen (or not) using my arrow keys.
That's all I am looking for. I have found some apps that support 1 or 2 items but not 1 that does everything I want it to do. If am looking to edit a pic, I use GiMP.
Thanks in advance.![]()
EDIT:
Well, learn something new everyday.
I discovered Gwenview was already installed. Handles everything I need. Has a nice UI as well.

I use mirage. The select image as background is going to be dependent on your window manager etc.

I am using KDE 4.x for my WM.

Gwenview should work.
