I am about to replace my dell laptop with a new one and I am getting away from windows into Linux more. I am just curious what is a better laptop for running Linux... a windows notebook pc or a macbook? Or does it really not matter?

Defiantly a windows based PC. In fact I do not think it is possible to run Linux on a macbook.

Have also been considering a MB and because I like Ubuntu had already been looking into the possibility of installing Linux. Found this.

You can definitely run linux on the new macbooks, because they are x86 based. Go to an apple store and try one out to decide if its what you want to buy

If you're not using a MBP to run OS X, then its a waste. Apple overcharges on their hardware.
A windows based laptop will provide much better value.

^Agreed! You can save a buncha money by buying a windows-based PC instead of a Mac of equal specs.

I have a Macbook Pro. I am most likely selling it in favor of a regular laptop with Linux.

PS. Check the Buy/Sell forum if you want to buy mine! :)
