Does anyone use Ubuntu on the new MPB? I was reading around on ubuntuforums.org and it seems like a lot of drivers are not working (nvidia, sound). I am considering buying a MPB, I have never used OSX before. I am a programmer so I want to triple boot OSX, XP, Ubuntu with the MBP.

My friend just did the same thing with his Macbook after 24 hours of playing around with all the drivers and sequences and working out the kinks, he has successfully been able to triple boot all three. He says that now that he knows what to do, he could do it again in 3-4 hours.

If you know what you are doing, you will be able to run all three with ease.

I'm running it with VMware Fusion. If you don't need to run it natively (VMware still does a great job, imo), its free and quick and easy.

I have a nice little setup now though. I have an external LCD with the virtual machine full screened and the MBP LCD has OS X full screened. I don't know what the hell to do with Ubuntu, but the possibilities!...

I used this little guide to help install the VMware stuff onto Ubuntu..

I second the VMware Fusion idea or even Parallels. But since none of us are really Linux experts, I am going to move this to the Linux forum. I think they can give you some leads on drivers and such.
