This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    and it supports the latest wifi, uses latest kernel ala Kubuntu...debian based...I've been waiting on this one....NICE (of course it's KDE, but some users install Gnome) :D

    I'm using this now....it's pretty sweet...wireless and BT are fine....installed Flock 2.0 from getdeb.net. For vitualbox...should I download the Debian file? ah, MEPIS 8 is Debian Lenny, that's that ticket ! :D

    MEPIS=Fail.
    But I guess I'll try...

    MEPIS 7.0 failed for me also...because they emphasize stability, they were using an old kernel which was was problematic for my wireless. New kernel this time around, and I do like the general way it's put together also with manual, etc. I'll see if I can find quibbles later when I get more time....try to sync my blackberry, VB, etc....
