This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I've been using the pre-release version of 17 for some time now on my CF-53.
    The new final release of MX-17 is now out and available: https://mxlinux.org/
    This flavour of Debian Linux works well on old and new alike and has been a favorite for some time now.
    It's the easiest to run on a usb drive with persistence (saves your changes) and installs easily too.
    There are many help videos on their site, and just wanted to see if anyone else has tried it.

    Mx-17 (formerly 16) has been my "go-to" distro that I keep on a flash drive for times when I need to use gparted or need to rescue a windows computer. :D

    I actually have MX Linux 16 running in my fit-PC Slim as it's one of the few distros with a non-PAE kernel (the Geode in it has no PAE) and doesn't look as rudimentary as Bodhi Linux. It runs, the wireless module got automatically detected and works, though there's no proper graphics driver since the original one has been deprecated long ago. Worse, the open source driver is only available in newer kernels which kinda defeats the purpose.

    Too bad MX Linux 17 drops the non-PAE version, one less choice for my old thin clients :(

    Just realized there's a new antiX website while I've been watching the old one for the whole time. The new site did mention non-PAE kernel for antiX 17 32-bit, gotta try it out when I'm free.

    How's the GPU support? I don't have an integrated GPU on my 4790 but I'm running a 1070. 144hz hasn't been the most pleasant experience on linux for me.
