I have a Dell Inspiron6400 running Windows vista.
I got a dvd of Mandriva2007 from my friend and tried to install, but after booting to the dvd, it says "could not mount compressed loopback" and exits from the installation. What do i do now?
The error is encountered after i press 'installation', the kernel loads, and it tries to mount the files on to the memory.
Please help guys
thanks

I honestly don't know...
You might have better luck with Mandriva-specific issues by using one of the forums listed here: http://www.mandriva.com/en/community/resources/node_838
Unfortunately, I don't think anyone here uses Mandriva. -
Even there nobody seems to know. Someone has already posted about it and has no reply. Its not a dell issue, because he has toshiba laptop. a 'laptop' issue? no idea.
Mandriva installation failed on inspiron6400
