The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I gave it a try...good for light web usage (even though Chromium still needs a tweak or two) and the stantard social networks. Its snappy on a netbook. I will install as a second boot option over Ubuntu Netbook Remix.

    I tested MeeGo (from an USB flash drive) on my Acer 7720. Looks pretty interesting for a small laptop or even some touchscreen-based device. However, I not tried the multimedia features as all my music/videos are in partitions ReiserFS and this filesystem is not supported by MeeGo.

    I will give it a second try...I did the USB boot in my Aspire One, I will create a small partition and give it a chance.

    MeeGo was a no-go for me. unfortunately none of my laptops have the supported video chipset.

    also tried out peppermint which was pretty cool, but im back to mint now. :p

    Well maemo was very good on the N900, lets hope nokia and intel get this meego worked out nicely.
