Most ironic is that there's M$ Hyper-V code in the 2.6.32-rc kernel (which I'm running now).

Its interesting, but i have a feeling its mostly show boating for the SEC.
They are looking to crack down on Microsoft's supposed monopoly on computer OS's and the more names M$ can through out as viable options/competitors then the better their case looks.
Linux is a very viable competitors to M$, but unfortunately the great portion of the world doesn't know this. M$ really does have a strangle hold on the industry. But more and more people are getting exposed to Linux and its polishing up more and more with each release (and its still open source and free) There will come a time that M$'s statement is more true than they would like to believe. -

atleast MS mentions the threat... in my opinion Linux is a bigger threat than apple. Linux can run on anything... OS X can't. I have(well had now) a macbook and I used OS X for 3 days. I just couldn't stand it so back to Ubuntu and Windows I go.

It's exactly as others have said, MS is playing up the competition for legal (and P.R.) reasons: they don't want to be accused of being a monopoly or for anti-trust issues.
MS is pure evil. I'm not talking about the OS per se but the company and Mr. Gates.
The Best Buy propaganda is just another example.
