I wanna monitor my temps under linux, especially the hdd, but I can't seem to find how to. I am on ubuntu 9.04 x64, and I downloaded lm sensors, x sensor and I configured it through terminal, but it doesn't show anything in the app..
I've also downloaded some other thing for hardware monitor but I can't see it anywhere :/ what do you guys use?

I use hddtemp to detect my hd temps and Conky to display them in my Ubuntu 9.04 installation. Configuring hddtemp is fairly easy, but I recommend visiting the Ubuntu forums for more details. Try this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=282353&highlight=hddtemp

I did a whole lot of research... opened an entire new tab and typed "temperature monitor linux" in the Google box. Here you go.

I'm just not so familiar yet with ubuntu so most of these I don't understand half of it so I was searching for the specific tools you guys use so I can start there.

Although the first link there does look about as handy as any names we could throw at you. Some of those look good. -
Alright I finally opted for sensors-applet and hddtemp, which I've set to display CPU,GPU and HDD temps in the top panel. Thx for the links

for KDE, ksensors works like a champ

X sensors
Hi dear friends, You are share your problem but that's not done. Please tell me about your PC configuration. You are downloading a X sensors. They are properly installed or not. After installation it properly work... -
x sensors didn't show anything. I tried the configuration I saw on the forums but it still didn't work. I didn't try more because sensors applet worked great.
