    Hi Linux goers,

I need a miracle. I'd like to dual-boot Ubuntu x64 together with Windows 7 x64, but my research has shown that the Radeon 3870 X2 (desktop card, I know) has very poor Linux support. The best implementation of the R680 under Ubuntu that I know of is to fool the OS into using only one 3870 for 3D acceleration. Link to workaround: [ubuntu] How to Enable 3D Acceleration for a ATI 3870x2 in Jaunty - Ubuntu Forums

Other instructions for similar workaround: http://linux.stairwaytoheaven.net/2009/12/linux-and-ati-radeon-3870x2.html

Moreover, development of the RadeonHD driver is dead. Is there any real, complete solution available that makes use of both 3870s, and if so is 3D support and power management (this card draws a lot of power) possible?

Thanks for the help in advance!

No ideas? Being familiar with Linux, I'd love to run it on my desktop system, but I have to say that the OS is very disappointing even after years of improvement, given that it can't deal with a video issue like this...
