I'm new to Linux so bare with me. I'm trying to install Folding@home, and when I attempt to open the package, I get the following "Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: python (< 2.7)" What do I need to do to fix this? I'm a n00b, sorry![]()

What version of Ubuntu or Mint or Debian (or whatever) are you running?
Python 2.7 should be available in any current distro. -
Ahh, ok. I'm running Mint 11. I'll have to update that tonight. Figure I'll just wipe the partition and start fresh. I partitioned lasnight and installed it's not like I'll lose anything. Actually updating did come to mind after I called it a night and went to bed. I think I just went with the version of Mint I had from several months ago. Thanks again! +1
While I'm at it, what is a good program for monitoring system components such as CPU/GPU load and temps? The primary use for the partition will be to run Folding@home. -

You can use the sensors command, which is part of the lm-sensors package, or for constant monitoring you can use sensors-applet (gnome 2.x), gkrellm, conky, or other applets if you use kde or lxde, etc. In gnome 3 on mint 12 and later, there may be a special applet since they have a customized version of the panel and whatnot. For plain gnome 3 I use this: https://github.com/xtranophilist/gnome-shell-extension-cpu-temperature
