    Hello,

I am wanting to install Linux on my old Clevo laptop, which has a GTX 280m video card. I'm asking for distro help as I tried installing Ubuntu on it within the last year and could not get the Live CD to work with the video card.

Is there a distro that works with older Nvidia cards right out of the box? Back in the day I would be down for spending an afternoon getting something to work without asking help, but I don't have that kind of time anymore.

    Thanks for any help!

One distro I've always had good hardware support with is PCLinuxOS. The KDE version looks great. The boot time is slightly slower than most other distros, but even the boot and login screens look great.
