Does NeroLinux or k3b supports burning to blu-ray?
-
Blue Ray is a fairly new technology so I would be surprised if they did, but you could always give it a try.
-
Actually any of the CD/DVD burner software should work in Linux.
-
You should ask if "cdrecord" supports blu-ray, rather than k3b. And I doubt it. nerolinux may, but I'm not certain on that.
-
Isn't it a hardware thing and not software. In other words if the device supports 50GB (or less) ISO file system it should not matter and is recognizable by the kernel.

I guess that's the point of my question. Somebody has posted a way to make cdrecord write to blu-ray, but I am asking whether anyone here has experience (I'm sorry I didn't make this clearer, my fault) burning to blu-ray through k3b, ie the interface support burning directly, or controlling cdrecord directly through k3b to burn to blu-ray.
NeroLinux doesn't use cdrecord, it has it's own burning application implementation. I e-mailed Nero's Ahead, but no reply so far. -
I wonder if anyone here actually has a writer compatible with Blu-Ray?
I don't even know anyone with a Blu-Ray PLAYER :S -
I don't know anyone with one either, let alone a PS3
NeroLinux is a joke. It's a poorly-written burning app that only sells because it looks somewhat like its windows couterpart (and yes, I do use/love the windows version). K3b will support Blu-Ray once it really starts to take off. LaCie supplies one of the main devs with test units, so you can pretty much bet that once LaCie starts selling Blu-Ray drives, he'll be on the list to get one. Also, K3b uses cdrecord for all its recording operations, so unless it's some sort of hack of the program (or special command-line parameters), if cdrecord can do it, so can k3b. K3b also has the ability to accept "custom" disc sizes, or even detect the size from the disc in the drive, this might just work with Blu-Ray.
