    Hi

For some reason, my netbook (1005HA) has been having some weird problems. I've been using XP for around 4 months until it kinda crashed. It still works but I get these error messages all the time.

I installed Mint. It worked fine for 2 weeks until an error message showing
"No init found. Try passing init= bootarg" I just reinstalled the thing and it worked fine for another a week until the same problem occurred. The recovery mode doesn't work (same error message) and installing from the LiveUSB doesn't work. When I run the installer, it doesnt go to the second stage after language selection.

Also, when I tried to shut down, I only saw the splash screen for around an hour so I had to hold onto the power button.

What's the problem with my netbook?

If i had to guess at what is wrong it sounds like the harddrive/ssd (what ever your using) Is acting fishy.... if you have a 4gb+ flash drive or sd card laying around try to boot/install mint on it and see what happens or if the problem still shows up

Yeah +1 for what Texanman said, from what you've told us. The hard disk/flash memory may have reached the end of its rope.

I have a 4GB Sandisk that I didnt use that much..its only 3 weeks old. I booted Linux mint live CD. Everything works fine, I just can't seem to mount the HDD inside the netbook. I also can't shutdown properly. After pressing shutdown from the Menu, I got just the splash screen, and after waiting couple of hours i just had to press the power button.

that might be the image your using causing the random black screen... plus when it shuts down it does ask you to remove the device before continuing so that could be why it hanged :p
