Hi, I downloaded and installed Kubuntu (the latest version), and so far I'm enjoying it. I've just run into a bit of a problem. Initially, I was able to navigate via the "Start" menu to the Add/Remove programs (or packages, software, etc.) page and install or uninstall various things. However, I can't for the life of me navigate to that page again.
It's actually ridiculous. I was just able to do it, and I didn't even think twice about it. Now, it's like completely hidden - there is no software management option. Any help would be appreciated.

Open up xterm.
log in as root
run
Code:synaptic

That wouldn't work in Kubuntu.
He needs to launch Adept.
If you still can't find it, run kdesu adept from a terminal/run box. -

Anyone know how I can install this Codec pack? ([link removed]) It's for Windows, I'm not sure there is a linux version. I'm interested in this specific codec pack because it has CoreAVC, for free. Thanks.

What is the difference between kdesu and su ?

In Ubuntu/Other Linux Distro you don't need to run CoreAVC because the way linux does video playback is better than windows and therefore more efficient. =P

Still, really digging Kubuntu right now. -
Are you using alsa or oss?

ALSA, from the looks of it. It's still not working, and I've been perusing through guides for a while.
New to Linux, need a little spot
