I have a Alienware that is using ubuntu and for a while now there hasn't been any wireless ever since a ubuntu update was installed in the update manager. I also noticed that it wont play a DVD now. I really don't want to reinstall ubuntu. It took me a while to get it working. I also see that the cube no longer works. thank kirk

Updates brake as much old things as they fix new ones ...
Reason I keep old kernels to have full wireless compatibility.

You might want to try to load wireless drivers manually.
