Just got a Dell Optiplex 270, with P4 2.8GHz, 1GB RAM, and 40GB HD. Needs an optical drive though. Are there drives to be avoided with Ubuntu and/or other Linux variants? From what I can tell, I need a full sized drive to fit into the case properly, and it needs to be an IDE. I know there are good deals on the web, but don't want to deal with returning something if it's going to be a pain to get working.
