So I was trying out Natty this evening and when trying to install a flashing tool for my phone the ubuntu software center refused to touch the file saying it was a bad quality package and was dangerous... Now, I can take the transition to unity and the introduction of the universal menu bar but this, I don't understand. Why would you implement something like this? A package that works fine on every debian based distribution would suddenly stop because Canonical said so? What the heck? Said package worked fine when installed using dpkg but I'm not sure I like the direction Ubuntu is headed with decision like this.

Ugh. Another reason for me to skip canonical in future releases.

You could have had a look at the bug tracker on your own. This is one of the reasons why they exist.

Having a look if there is already a bug report related to a strange error message is always a good idea.
