I have never installed ubuntu or any of the sort before, but I want to try it... the thing is, I need to get my lappy fully running before Monday, so any quick responses are appreciated!
1.) How much space would it take (GB)?
2.) I want to run it off an SD card or such, my laptop is set to boot first from the harddrive, (not my disk drive), and I want to keep it that way. I can access multiboot menu when I want to boot up from ubuntu etc... is this possible?
i'm getting a ssd for my windows bootup soon, and theres not going to be much room in there after installing all the games etc.... media won't be a problem b/c i have it on my smart bay hd... would 8 or 16gb (sd or sdhc?) card be enough?!?!
if it is, i'm getting one tomorrow... thanks!!

1) 3-4 GB
2) GRUB bootloader will install with Ubuntu, and if you install Startup Manager from within Ubuntu, you can select Vista to boot automatically
3) See first answer
Go for it! -
I suggest downloading the desktop/live CD first and using it for at few days or so.
the livecd nearly the same thing as installing it except its slower since its running from the CD
1) It takes up around 4gb
2) not sure about this. -
so 8gb is more than enough?? SD or SDHC?..

4gb is enough
