OK guys, I have my very own, PCLinux OS Gnome(2008) based distro :).
This came about when I saw how cluttered PCLinuxOS, it had many apps doing the same job. So, I decided to give it a new theme, remove some programs, etc. to "clean" it up.
I hope to make this into something bigger, with better software, and easy to use, first step now is the logon screen and the splash screen. If you want to help, give me a few tips via this thread or the official forums
Here's the info., forums, blog, gallery, and downloads.

Found a fix, it seems to be on my end, so it might not affect everyone.
See page 13 for the fix. Do not use KDE commands! They will not work.

Well, this distro is spreading, there's already a few torrent sites(besides mininova) that have it, and I thank them all.

Just a heads up in case you didn't catch it on the blog, there is now an HTTP download up. I know the torrent doesn't have many seeds at the moment so hopefully this can help speed things up for those who want to test it out.

One question: What is the minimal system requirement?
Since it is based off gnome, i think it is same as regular ubuntu requiremennt, right? :p

anything that can run ubuntu should be able to run this. Im downloading it right now. the http download is just a tad slow (IE 70 kbps) Once I finish downloading Im going to put it up on my site as a mirror.

Must be a lot of people dowoading it :)
But yep, this has been tested in Virtualbox with 8MB video RAM and 384MBs RAM, it runs fine.

You're right it is slow for some reason. Perhaps because it's prime time, but if it keeps it up I'll complain to the host.

Cool Calvin, but remember, it is still a beta.
Hmmm, one guy downloaded it at 300kbp/s, I wonder whats up?
EDIT: You can try the torrent download, but no comment on it's speed either.

Torrent speeds arnt very universal usually depends on your internet providor and how many seeds are out there
and generally the more seeds the more leechers =P

How long would it honestly take one person to make their own distro?

Using what? I can make a basic distro using fedora as a base in under 2 hours. A debian based distro is about 6 hours. A LSF based one is a weekend project.

Depends, if one person hand codes it, it should usually take maybe a year or more. If you are using another distro as a base and code some things in there could take a few months, and if you have more people the faster it gets built and so on.
