    Hello all.

I currently installed Ubuntu HH 8.04 and I now realize I had set it up with the nvidia-gfx new Envy installation (as I have an nVidia 8600).

Well, I went to "enable" my graphics driver under the "Hardware Drivers" section and it proceeded to install a different video package. I have since tried to remove these packages and install the correct envy package. I have even run EnvyNG, and I am still stuck with max resolution of 640x480 (before I was seamlessly running 1680x1050 =( ).

If anyone is aware how I can fix this mishap, I'll love you forever.

    Thanks!

    EDIT:
So I was smart enough to backup my xorg.conf file, and I replaced the backup...this fixed the resolution problem, but startup is still a little slow. Any suggestions are welcome

Try System -> Admin -> Synaptic Package manager.

Search for the things you installed. Try typing in nvidia-gfx, nvidia-gfx envy, or nvidia or gfx, or something. Find them, and untill both of them, the envy and the other ones. Then reinstall via envy. See if that works.
