Is there anything like a reverse Cygwin which will run .bat and .vbs files in Linux?

For .bat, dosbox or maybe cmd.exe within wine. For .vbs, I think wine will be your only option next to a virtual machine. I got this far until my head started hurting: JSWare - VB in Linux

Why would one want to run vbs on Linux? (not saying that it's absolutely pointless, just curious)

While wine could probably do the VBscript, I would rather just re script for linux.
Running batch and VBScript files?
