I'm having a problem trying to install ubuntu, either through its wubi interface installer, or through a usb stick, every time i go through the wubi interface and then restart my computer its get stuck loading it the first time, and it doesn't even start up using the usb stick, Ive got it running in a VM currently so I know its not my version of the software, could it be that ive already got windows loaded on to one ssd, and i'm trying to put it onto a separate partition of a second HDD, ive have about 50gb allotted on the partition for it to install so I know its not a space issue. any ideas would be appreciated.

Can you provide more details about what happens when you try to boot, without an error message or more clues there is really nothing to go on to help you.

Sorry here you go, the first one is having Ubuntu installed through the windows interface Wubi, the second one is having Ubuntu installed through a usb, it ends up that way if I select to install to a hard drive or to select install on usb. if you need anything else, I check reagularly through the day, thanks.

That's a "kernel oops" in the first one you posted, looks like an error with the nouveau nvidia driver.

Does it just hang after each of these screens you posted?

What version of ubuntu are you trying to use?

Ive tried with the newest one 11.10 and 11.04, i have .iso's of both versions, I have 11.04 installed on a VM currently.

Yeah it just waits there till I have to do a hard reset, I believe the longest ive waited is about 30 minutes and it doesn't go beyond that line of code.

Is this 64 bit Ubuntu or 32 bit?

Can you try pressing ctrl+alt+F1? I think that kernel oops means you won't get X-server, so where it looks like its hung, I believe its actually finished loading and doing nothing, so you might be able to do a login via the console

I have sandy bridge, would it matter that I have the IGP disabled in the bios and its trying to run from that and cant. Or do I need a different driver for my GPU, just an older version, I'm not very technical with linux so more basic responses would be ideal.

Which OCZ SSD model do you have?

And have you tried changing that BIOS option for the IGP?

I'm not installing it on the OCZ but on the samsung, just as a test run before I reinstall windows and ubuntu onto the OCZ, my plan was to get it running on the samsung first and then remove the ocz after the first start up and see if it runs well on my system. I havn't tried it yet, but i'm planning on that tonight and going to try and install it with out the ocz in their at all, so theres no traces of windows left.
