Hi, I'm running Windows Vsta x64 and I want to run Linux (to make some experiences - programming mostly).

What's the best one to run under Windows, but nothing as big as VMWare. Something like a one-click application.

I've heard about Cygwin and Portable Ubuntu... Are there better ones (I've not tried the latter, so I'm not saying they're bad).

    Regards.

Edit: I'm using a 1920x1200 resolution. I'd prefer if I could use this resolution in Linux, as well.

If you do programming, why don't you just install some Ubuntu itself there?
I personally find it way better to program at Linux. I just can't understand how people do code in Windows.

I heard it is really easy to do so, and you will have the real thing. It will probably take you <30min to burn and partition and install and then you can just access it from the boot screen. It will probably use your native resolution.
I'm not sure you will find something like a one click application that is truly Linux, besides doing a virtual machine...
Why does it need to run under Windows?

I really need to run it in Windows. I'm needing this urgently. Don't have the time to install it from scratch...

You can install Linux in as little as 30mins. Providing that you're not technically inept, head over to http://www.ubuntu.com and you should know what to do.
