Running Ubuntu 7.10
For photo albums, trying out F-spot, digikam, and the Linux version of Picasa. I think I like Picasa best if for no other reason that I like it in Windows. Picasa in Linux has some rough spots - the email link doesn't open Thunderbird unless Thunderbird is already started, and it won't compress/import the photo into Thunderbird even though it acts like it did. Picasa does interact with Evolution correctly if you make that the default e-mail client.
For panoramas, I've been having fun with hug-in. It's a little confusing but you can set things up so that hugin works with enblend and AutoPano to make panoramas come out better and easier.
There are Windows versions of those programs too but it's more fun in Linux
Brasero for CD/DVD burning. Trying k3b too but kinda prefer Gnome apps when running Gnome.
I like Amarok for music but it is a bit resource-hungry. Doesn't really matter with a newer PC but becomes an issue with older PC's.
Sunbird is a nice calendar app. If I knew anything about Evolution I'd probly be using its calendar functions..
AptonCD is a nice tool for updating offline PC's -

I think I like Transmission better then Deluge.....
-
I like uTorrent, and Deluge is like uTorrent, so I use it.
-
Transmission is lightweight & to the point, so I use it.
I use utorrent in Windows though. -
transmission doesnt have the all the features of utorrent, deluge does and I use all the features so deluge it is
-
So Deluge is a good torrent program? i used utorrent in windows so ill assume ill like it =]
and also does anyone else use Banshee for music playing?
i really like the interface and how it tells you artists like the one your listening to -
deluge is great, used banshee, also liked the similar artists feature.
-
I like Amarok,
-
amarok was ok
i dunno i just didnt like the interface at all really
and the lack of options -
I dont like amarok, first off its a kde app and I dont like the way the left pane is organized.
I find exaile / banshee (gnome alternatives) to be much better.
Also if your a foobar fanatic then foobar runs perfectly with wine, or if you want something native then try QuodLibet (its philosophy is that you know how to organize your music better than anyone else) -
Does QuodLibet support Last.FM ?
-
Quod Libet can be extended by writing plugins as Python scripts. Plugins available from the Quod Libet website can, among other things, add advanced editing features, synchronize with MusicBrainz, copy songs to portable digital audio players, and display on-screen song change notifications. Quod Libet also supports last.fm via the QLScrobbler plugin, which sends details on songs played to the last.fm server so that they may be added to a user's music profile.
from wikipedia, is that what you wanted?

Here is a list of some popular quodlibet plugins (from official site).
