I was considering asking in the Sony forum, but I suppose I'll ask here first.

I'm considering purchasing a Sony Vaio EG series model VPCEG190X with a i5-2410M and NVIDIA GeForce 410M 512 MB.

Being able to install Ubuntu on it and have hdmi, touchpad, graphics card, ethernet and wifi work is essential. I know there are issues getting Linux running well on other Vaios(SB series and last year's E series), but I can't find any information regarding the performance of Linux distros on the EG models with Nvidia graphics specifically.

Does anyone own an EG or have any recommendations for a similar laptop that runs Ubuntu well? Anyone know how Linux runs on this year's Vaios?
