There's a sort of a jungle-sound (like a drum rattle) right when the logon screen loads (Ubuntu 7.10). Can I get rid of/change this? Thanks.![]()

Go to: "system -> preferences -> sound", there you get a window for preferences, click the "sounds" tab, look at the botton of the list of the system sounds for "log in" and "log out" and just change those to "no sound"
Or it might be: "login window preferences -> accessibility tab", uncheck "login screen ready" under sounds.
Hope it helps. -
) and the second one is for when you first startup/after you log out and it prompts you to login (the shorter, less annoying one)
