The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    According to this Phoronix article, the Left 4 Dead demo for Windows has linux libraries inside like steamclient_linux.so with strings like k_EMsgClientRequestForgottenPasswordEmailResponse.
    They can't be found in the final version and one wonders why they are there in the windows demo but someone is getting real serious about bringing Steam to linux... :)
    There is also some info about the linux version of another game; Postal III, also build on Valve's Source Engine, in that article.
