I have a Gateway 6831-FX with Debian Lenny installed. When I suspend the laptop, it won't ever wake up. Is this a known problem with linux and suspend? Any solutions?

I don't think it's a linux problem per se, but I'll check mine now that you've brought it up....I believe on another install it was working fine.

Yes I searched this forum for keyword "suspend". Nothing useful came up.

This forum is not the best place to conduct a search for Linux problems. You should either:

    1. Use Google to search the entire web (chose your keywords carefully).

    OR

    2. Do a more directed search by first searching in forums dedicated to your distribution and then expanding the search to forums for distributions similar to yours, etc.

I usually just use Google and pay attention to my keywords. Google very rarely sends me here for answers. I use Ubuntu so I usually find my answers on Ubuntu Forums, the Ubuntu Community Documentation, Launchpad, the mailing lists or bug report managers associated with Debian or Fedora or openSuse or on the Gentoo wiki.
