I've been pondering dualbooting Fedora 15 with my Windows 7 for a while and don't know whether it's worth it or not.

Why not try it out running it from a USB Drive and see if you like it?

Yep, that's what I did earlier today. I installed it on my 1GB flashdrive and I like it so far. I'm impressed with the fact that it also detects my virgin mobile 760 broadband usb stick. So, I'm able to get on the internet with it too. not bad.

I wish I knew how to shutdown my laptop while running the live desktop, because I can't save my changes to the persistent file on the usb.

What software did you use to create the Live USB? You should be able to allocate some space on the USB for persistence.

When you want to shutdown you have to press the "Alt" key to change "Suspend" to "Power Off".

I used the software that they let us download from the fedora website to make the live USB. And I allocated some space for persistence too.

That's all I needed to know was to be able to "Power off." Thank you. :) For the rest, I'll just use the guides you posted in the original post above..
