I got my R60e with IPS screen all set up, but I'm just not liking the green part of Mint. Can anyone suggest a good theme for Mint that doesn't have the green in it? A few pointers wouldn't hurt either. Thanks for any help.

Ambiance Evolution is a modification of Ubuntu's theme. Could also try elementary, the shiki flavours, orta.

It doesn't seem to have updated packages for the latest version of Ubuntu/Linux Mint, so you'll have to install it this way:

To install the pack from sources:
    1. Download the archive and extract it
    2. Open the terminal and cd to the extracted directory.
    3. Run the command "make "(e.g. "make ubuntu").
run "make help" to see the available variants.
    4. Run the command "sudo make install".
    5. Go to "Applications -> Accessories -> Elegant GNOME".
    6. Optional step. If you use the Nautilus Elementary:
    a) Go to Applications -> Accessories -> Elegant GNOME
    b) Choose "Configure Nautilus"
    c) Select "Nautilus Elementary"

Link to source package here: Download GNOME-Look.org

Thanks Thomas. I downloaded Elegant and extracted to the Z directory, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to with the make command? The Mint-X theme isn't too bad. If I could something with similar with different coloring, I'd be good.

I used to use Music-Applet with Ubuntu to control my music player. Is there something similar for Mint 11? Thanks.

The people who make the theme seem to be a bit lazy. You have to use make(probably "make mint") to build the theme from the source code. However, if all you want is some colouring tweaks, you can change those if you open up the appearance settings window, go to theme, hit customize, and go to the colours tab you can change the colours:

Thanks Thomas. I kind of decided I like the Mint X theme, but is there away to make the taskbar the same color as the title bar?

You should be able to right click it, go to properties, and change the colour in one of those tabs.

I'll give it a whirl. Thanks.

Edit: OK, I tried that, but it only changes the middle part of the bar. The ends both remain white. I think I found a theme I like anyway. Is there a way to change the icons back to the default for mint or am I stuck using the ones that come with the theme? Thanks.
