This is a serious problem, i'll go see if i can update to the SVN version of mplayer and try to use Flash 10 beta but this is pretty depressing how things get ruined by something like this.

And I have no idea what that command does, just that it works. I asked someone for help on IRC and they told me to try that, and it worked. -
You really should be careful with that kind of stuff, although IRC is generally safe if you go to the Ubuntu IRC channel. Compiz is a beta software? I thought it was stable, i got more info on it and it seems i don't have to wait for flash 10 or a new version of Mplayer. I have to wait for a new version of Compiz. At least find a version that uses my GPU instead of CPU, maybe in the SVN. I love Compiz, i sorta can't live without it anymore. I sure hope that the next version of Compiz with GPU support or Flash with GPU support will be out soon...

As for Compiz, the entire idea behind compositing window managers is new, and the software is far from stable. Just because they released something and called it 'stable' doesn't mean much. Stable is subjective, and could mean something completely different to the developers than it does to the users. -
Darn, i love Compiz. I love new stuff, go figure. I hope i can find an SVN version or something that enables GPU support so i can have it enabled, Compiz is one of the main reasons i switched from boring old Vista to Linux, it looks so cool.

<del>Okay, i'm having some issues playing media on the web with the Mplayer plugin, the video is messed up entirely as if i'm watching tv and there's a hurricane outside, the dish gets messed up signals, there isn't even audio. I tried fooling around with the settings and it didn't do anything for it at all. Anyone have any insight?</del> FIXED

<del>Also, I've got a new issue. On my other desktop with Mint on it i need some help getting it to use the native resolution. It's currently using 1280x780 (i think) and not the native it should which is 1440x900. It's an LG W1952TQ - 19 inches monitor and this is my xorg.conf file. EDIT: I forgot to say that this machine has a very old integrated GPU so that may be the problem but i'd like some confirmation on this. If necessary i may have to look into buying a cheap gfx card or something.</del> FIXED

Looks like your Flash problem is fixed: http://digg.com/linux_unix/Flash_on_Linux_no_longer_breaks_webpages

I haven't tried running Flash and Compiz yet, i might test it out soon. I already have Flash 10 beta 2 though. Does anyone know how long or big the .wav file for the login/logout sound can be? I seems to be having problems using a custom one that i want.
To make linux perfect....
