I just placed an order for a Toshiba nb 205( http://laptops.toshiba.com/laptops/mini-notebook/NB200/mini%20NB205-N312BL And I was wondering how well it works with linux, and if all the hard ware works fine (bluetooth wifi, camera etc)

I'm going to be deployed over seas and I need this computer to be able to communicate with my family state side and I don;t want to give up functions of the machine

I am mostly looking at the ubuntu netbook remix...and input?

    Hi there,
I have tried to use linux on both my old Aspire One and my current NB205 but as much as I hate to admit it XP remains the best choice, if for no other reason, battery life. Take my word for it, even if you could get everything to work under Linux, a nice, lean, clean install of XP IS STILL your best choice for this netbook (if you value battery life).
    Cheers

Linux power management takes some work to get running. There are tools that might possibly put it on par with XP, but it'll take effort to sort it all out.
