Question: I have a couple of Toughbooks without hard drives and operating systems. I would like to upgrade them with anywhere from 80 to 600 Ggs of Hard Disk Space. SO, the question is, do I need casing to accommodate the drives? I've heard you need casing for the hard drives. Also, where can I get a decent hard drive for a good price. I found a 500 GB drive on newegg for 65 bucks, but I need to know about the casing.

    Thanks so much :)

Read my response to your other post on the caddy’s

As for hard drives , take the time to read the FAQ sections
You will find out that the modern sata hard drives that you are considering as replacements are not compatible
You will need pata or ide type 2.5” hard drives
