    After a bit of research (I'm on a sketchy connection), I've found several different methods of effecting a transparent terminal. My question is what methods any of you have found to be best. I think Thomas had a transparent terminal in one of his screenshots? Anyways... I'd be grateful for any instructions. :)

    Thanks,
    -pixelot :cool:

    I use gnome terminal most of the time with a transparent background (different colors for root and normal user).. The setting I use is under:
    Edit->Profile Preferences->Background->Transparent Background

    Thanks so much for the quick reply, ALLurGroceries!!! :D

    Obviously I didn't think to look through the menus, since I thought it was more of a process. I don't think I saw that method, or if I did, I assumed it was something else. Nice! :cool:

    Other methods are using trailblazer through compiz to change opacity based on the idle time of the window (I use this and the aforementioned method).

    Also this link outlines how to make borderless, transparent windows. I haven't tried this yet but it looks very nice :).

    rxvt has complete transparency as well. No borders no titlebar, etc

    Thanks, I bookmarked it! :)

    Sweet. I'll have to check that out. More methods FTW. :cool:

    Here's a shot of my desktop in which you can sort of see the terminal. :D
