I currently have vista and ubuntu in dual boot on my laptop, and I would like to try win7. Can I create a ntfs partition through vista, then install win7 on that partition and then get back grub with
    sudo grub
    root (hdA,B)
    setup (hdA)
    and that's all?

*I know the grub reconstruction part, I've done it before, I'm asking about the 3 oses running fine side by side and displaying correctly in grub.

    Thanks :D

Why vista? Windows 7 is essentially the same and better. Putting it together with Vista is redundant. Windows 7/XP/Ubuntu would be a better combination.

7 and XP would be even more redundant, since 7 can virtualize XP.

I know win7 is awesome, but I need to keep vista.. at least for now. Stop arguing about redundancy xD. You guys know if what I said would work?

Not every CPU has Virtualization Tech to support XP mode.
Not every version of Windows 7 has XP mode.

There should be no problem. I recommend you to use gparted to split the partitions. There's a LiveCD you can download from it's website.

Just make sure after you install to get grub to be setup in the top of the drive.
