I have dealt with a failed attempt on Linux with a wireless rt2500 card for far to long.

However, I do have a laptop, a Dell E1505 with an Intel ABG, will Linux work with this?

Since I don't want to create another thread for two quick questions, I'll just post them here. I'm running Ubuntu 7.04 with Beryl. Does anyone know how to hide some of the little icons next to time in the main panel? I have Openoffice quickstarter and I want to hide it.

Second, does anyone know how to get rid of the little "explanations" that pop up whenever you move your mouse over a program launcher or something? It interferes with the window previewer plugin with Beryl.
