    Hi all...

I installed Feisty last night, and while I'm suitably impressed by the new features, I still am encountering the same problems as I did on Edgy when trying to use the NVIDIA driver. The new setup with recommending the proprietary drivers worked perfectly for my wireless device, but after installing the NVIDIA driver and rebooting, I get a lot of graphic corruption and system instability. Also, it still didn't seem to detect the appropriate acceptable resolutions, including the native res of my screen (1920x1200).

Are there any known issues with that NVIDIA driver and the GeForce Go 7950 GTX? Is there some other driver or technique that I should use for my setup?

Are there any others out there with Sager 5760s or similar setups to mine that have Feisty (or Edgy, for that matter) that are running the accelerated drivers successfully? I really want to try out Beryl, but obviously I'm not able to even try that until this stuff gets sorted out.

On a side note, you know what's annoying? Noticing a typo in a thread title and not being able to edit it. *Accelerated.

What kernel version are currently you on? It works fine for me after 20.15 and reinstall the driver from Nvidia. Every time you upgrade the kernel, you have to reinstall all kernel restricted drivers.

I did a clean install last night using the kernel included in yesterday's 7.04 official release.

Wow, this is the first time I heard it is in official now.

But you still need to check the kernel version. The official release doesn't mean it meat your requirement. I know 20.14 i386 doesn't work for my Go6150. Now I am on 20.15.generic and works fine.

Good question. I'll have to check that tonight I suppose. Anybody else happen to know offhand which kernel is installed by default on the official 7.04 release?
