Has anyone installed the latest Ubuntu 9.04 on their XPS 16?

And were there any issues (drivers, etc)? (XPS 16 with 1GB ATI 4670 graphics card)

I wasn't sure which forum to post this under. I was going to post under the Dell XPS section but I figured more Linux ppl will browse here.

I'm pretty new to ubuntu and am currently using it on my HP dv2000t b4 my new XPS 16 arrives so just seeing if theres any conflicts.

I will also be dual booting if i do install ubuntu. Is there a recommended size I should give for the ubuntu partition? My XPS will come with a 500GB hd. I am currently learning how ubuntu works on my HP and I gave it 20GB out of the 80. So far I have not done anything major in ubuntu nor am I sure how much to allocate for it on the XPS.

    Advice appreciated :D

ATi drivers for linux are pretty shoddy at the moment, but they can be made to work. Alternatively, you can use the open source radeon drivers, which work perfectly, but have no 3D capabilities. FYI, Dell has its own reroll of Ubuntu that they have available on their site. You might have a better shot with it.

Yea... I currently have 9.04 on my HP but the laptop is kinda screwy (hardware wise falling apart like fan grinding n overheating).

I dunno how the older ubuntus work. I did find that Dell does sell the XPS 13 with ubuntu 8.xx. I'd personally prefer using 9.04 since its the most updated version and I am relatively new to linux.
