    I'm trying to get a dual-boot of Ubuntu/Vista going on a Sager NP8660.

    I tried the Wubi windows installer, and it tried to boot to Ubuntu but then crashed and restarted.

    I tried the Live CD and it did the same thing. The best I can do is with the noapic nolapic tags and then it hangs on [io cfg....]. It just sits at that until I power it down. vga=nv or nvidia don't help. Neither did apci=off.

    Any ideas? It's a Montevina chipset w/ a NVidia card, P9500, 4 GB Ram, and a SATA drive with two partitions. Am I missing something?

    Did you try the Ubuntu alternate desktop CD?

    It may just be that the proper hardware support isn't ready yet. I'd make sure I was using the latest testing version of Ubuntu, and you'd probably get the most up to date help and info, over at the Ubuntu User forums. As a longshot, you can try this kernel boot option on the LiveCD;
    Code:
    all_generic_ide pci=routeirq
    Otherwise , the search function at the Ubuntu Users forum, will be your best bet.

    Good Luck..
