    Ubuntu Question

    Ok i was going to set this up on another hard drive to try it out before i put it on my main hard drive..... i put the cd in but can i not install it without getting onto another OS because it comes up with errors if i do it from the main menu of the cd on start up?.....

    What? Does it boot off of the CD? Does it give you the "Boot / Install Ubuntu" option? what version of ubuntu did you download? How did you burn it, did you burn it as a disk image, rather than just burning the ISO to the CD as a file?

    thats to many ?'s to answer you've got about 6 different ones in there its hard for me to function and answer all of them at once.

    If you can't pull the information out of that sentence, you don't want to deal with installing Linux. Stick with whatever is already installed on your computer.

    @Mike1434 - Pita is right. Unless you can help us by constructing your problem(s) into sentences, there isn't much we can do. Although Linux is free, it does have a learning curve to it. (Which is arguably the same as for Windows, but since most people start out with Windows, they don't want anther learning period, i.e. to know Linux)
