I was in between doing a kernel recompile for Slackware, and though I'd install the aforementioned OTB, and hell, I couldn't even get online!! It's a lot different than Ubuntu standard as far as menu's, etc and networking OTB...told me my wireless card didn't exist!....but man, anyone else try that? :D :D

    I'm "Back to Slack" already.....lol

EDIT: It looked very nice...maybe if I knew what I was doing it wouldn't be suxxing....lol

Ubuntu studio never really appealed to me. Don't need all that stuff.

I was just curious what it was OTB so to speak....I had to add wireless monitor to panel, and then couldn't get on line !! BTSOM !! lol

EDIT: Ubuntu proper 9.04 is great, IMO....I'm a pure function type of guy, I like Slack because once it's set up right it just can't hardly crash and it's fast, but I'm taking a second look at 9.04 x64...might keep, it's just too easy after using Slack.... :D

Probably due to the different kernel config, I'd think.

IMO you should just install normally then install the ubuntu-studio metapackages afterward

Yeah, I also had the wireless issue with Studio 8.10.

It's otherwsie a very nice looking distro that comes with a lot of good software.

true...I've done that....I just wanted to see what is was OTB with 9.04...and apparently I lacked the talent to find a LiveCD which was probably a completely different experience.....maybe the mod can delete this entire thread.....LOL
