Hello all
I am having a big trouble with Ubuntu and Vista Dual-booting on my Dell Vostro 1400.
what i did: installed Vista Ultimate and then installed Ubuntu (i had already partitioned the disk as I needed).
Configured Ubuntu. Its running like a dream.
Reboot, went to Vista. Installed all the drivers. Reboot. Ubuntu runs normal. Reboot, Vista runs normal. Intalled Office, reboot. Ubuntu runs normal. Vista gives me a BSoD every time i try to boot it (even in secure mode)
Any ideas on what is wrong and, mainly, what can i do to fix this?

Sounds more like a vista issue then Ubuntu issue.
Tried booting into safe mode and installing SP1? -
I posted it here because i though it might be a Grub problem. Not sure, though, I am still a Linux n00b.
And i cant boot Vista in any way anymore. Secure mode does not work also. -
you might have corrupted vista somehow...try putting in your vista CD and run that start up repair utility.

Shall try that tonight. Yet, i am afraid it may destroy GRUB and screw me even more (I only use Vista because i NEED M$ Project and Visio to work), making ubuntu unaccessible

Why not use Vista(or XP) in a VM?

Vista problem....have you done SP1? I used to get many BSOD's, looping BSOD's, when the computer was just sitting there idling.....I don't anymore since I've got SP1 and my drivers sorted.

Because i need to present the Gantt Charts. If i get it to work in Ubuntu, then its VM for Vista
EDIT: did not make it clear before. I need to present the Gantt charts on projectors. If i get the external vide output to work, then it is VM for vista -

Thank to you all, guys.
Its working fine now! -
