Hi!! I'm trying to install Ubuntu on my new Dv5T (since Debian was no good, gotta thank the dudes in the other post later), and I completed a netinstall. However, afterwards, my system just boots into vista (with no sight of the grub loader, tho I installed it) and every time I try to boot again from the pendrive, it says just "GRUB" on the screen.

Any clues on how to fix this? Thanks in advance

You may have installed Grub on the partition rather then MBR.
An easy fix would be to direct Vista's boot loader to boot Ubuntu.
To do this you can use an program called EasyBCD to Ubuntu as an option in Vista's own boot loader.

Thanks for the tip thomas!! will try it next time. I did a complete install from the live cd and I'm stuck with a lot of useless software preinstalled.

Well, that's what you get with Ubuntu. But it's a good start for Linux users.
