Is there anyway that I can make Ubuntu run Win games well as using a Win system? Since right now on my netbook Win XP runs very laggy and slow and compaird to Ubuntu like Windows sounds laggs and loading websites laggs etc. But one thing that Win XP is better than Ubuntu is running games like Doom 3 and WoW etc. I do play games so I need to be able to play my games well but the question is that how can I make Ubuntu run Win games well as using a Win system? Since if that's possible I would rather use Ubuntu than Win XP for my netbook. Now I don't know the reason why Win XP is lagging because I' am using IDE for the hard drive. I just thought maybe that was the reason but I don't know. I guess it's eather Ubuntu or I get Win Vista or 7. I know today that Win Vista is good as 7 since they made a ton of updates on Vista with service packs.

Basicly the performance on Ubuntu is great like Win 7 but only bad side of it is games. Basicly I like the performance of Ubuntu when playing videos, browsing the web and other desktop related stuff but when I play games like Doom 3 it lags alot more than Win XP. If I had Win 7 or Vista I would use it but I don't so I wanted to know how can I make Ubuntu run better on Win games so maybe it's really close to performing like playing Win games on a Win system. Ubuntu is free that's why I' am interested in using it. But maybe someone can help me so I can run Win games better on Ubuntu so it can play games like Doom 3 or WoW better. Basicly on Ubuntu WoW doesn't even work right at all I can't even play the game since the screen looks soo weird. But maybe it's because of the video driver isn't as good as the latest one from Intel. I don't know though I' am just assuming. But if someone can help I would truely appreciate it since I really like this forums and you guys have really helped me out. So far this is the best computer forums I been in.

Running Windows games in Linux requires some form of emulation, which would make them perform worse than in Windows itself.

Also is there a way to update the video drivers so it's the same version as the one on Intel.com website? Since I think that would help the performance on games. I wonder if the default video driver is old on the Ubuntu. Since it seems like it detects the video card and runs it. But I wasn't able to find a way to find an updated driver like for Windows for Ubuntu. Where is the latest drivers I can get for Intel video cards for Ubuntu?
