Anyone to get the the UltraNav to scroll in Ubuntu? One of the things I really like to do In Windoze is to set up the trackpoint to scroll since I don't use it for navigating, but don't have a clue how to do it in Ubuntu. Any help much appreciated.

ZaZ.. If you read through this Ubuntu Howto, then you will know the key to getting your touchpad settings configured correctly lies in the corresponding input device section of your xorg.conf file. This person has Linux running on their Thinkpad with the UltraNav, and posts their xorg.conf here. If you want to post your input device section, we can try and offer you some more advice..

There are a bunch of settings you can use to configure your touchpad, just read through this Ubuntu Howto from a bunch of Mac PB users and see all of the horizontal and vertical scrolling options there are.. Officially you only need to open a terminal and type in man synaptics and return, to see all of the synaptics driver configuration documentation..

jas, I think he wanted help on configuring the TrackPoint (the eraser nub pointer thing), not the Touchpad.

ZaZ, if you check out the link I supplied earlier, and look at the "scrolling" section, if gives instructions on how to configure the TrackPoint to scroll, though with those instructions, you do need to hold down the middle button while scrolling. I do not know of a way to get it to do that without pressing another button.

That's kind of what I wanted. The scroll zone works, but is not marked on the pad so it can be a bit hard to find at times? The trackpoint works much better for me anyways.

Another question if I may, I was installing some GTK2 themes. I like all black ones, but I didn't see one that was transparent or whatever you call it when you can see what's behind it. Anyone know of any. Thanks for the replies and any help.
