What is the best way to go about uninstalling Ubuntu.

I'd like to uninstall it and hopefully get the Win 7 beta.

I know I need to erase the partition and extend my partition into the space, which I can do with the live CD, but what should I do about the grub bootloader?

If you install any Windows OS, it will overwrite the MBR and GRUB will be gone.

Reconsider, before it's too late!!! Think of what a precious gift you're throwing away. :(
We care about you, and want you to think carefully about what you're doing.
YOU CAN DUAL-BOOT! You have options. :D

to fix the mbr just put in a vista recovery cd and run cmd and type bootrec.exe /Fixmbr

That will remove the GRUB bootloader. I too gave up on ubuntu. I will try again some time later. I just dont have the free time to play around with it all the time. Dont get me wrong, I love the interface but idk. Just isnt for me I guess.

I also came from Ubuntu to Win 7 beta. I thought it was a good time to make the transition. Nothing particularly wrong with Ubuntu but as a whole it was just too convoluted to use to accomplish similar tasks much more easily in Windows. I might give it a try once it has matured more (Maybe 2010 will be the year of the linux desktop :)).

As for installing the beta, just burn the disc and boot with it. Within the setup I just deleted all my existing partitions and installed in the unpartitioned space (the installer will automatically create a partition and format for you).
