I'm posting purely out of curiosity. Has anyone heard of Univention Linux? It's focused on business, but they have a free for personal use edition in 32 or 64 bit and use KDE 4. Not sure about the kernel, and which version of Debian either.
Just curious.![]()

Never heard of it but I dont like the idea of "demos" and limited use binaries while the full version costs money. Maybe Im reading the site wrong, but it just doesnt feel like an open source site...

Hi,
I heard of Univention, I'm working for itUnivention Linux (alias UCS) is our distribution focused on enterprises with a size of 50 to 5000 users. It integrates Samba, OpenLDAP, Heimdal Kerberos and other software and makes it highly scalable and maintainable.
UCS builds on the stable distribution of Debian GNU/Linux. Currently this is Lenny. We are planning the update UCS to Squeeze in summer 2011. UCS ships with two kernels, 2.6.18 and 2.6.32. Depending on your hardware and the software you want to use, e.g. Xen, KVM .., it's better to use the one or the other.
Greetings,
Jan Christoph
