I re-installed feisty. For some reason I turned off update manager. The package manager now is missing a lot of the packages I'd like to install like K3b or Wine. I can't seem to find the switch to turn it back on. If anyone know is information, it would be greatly appreciated.

If there are missing packages when you type them in the search field of the package manager, that's probably because you don't have all the required repositories added/enabled
-
I did search for them, they weren't there. How do I enable the repositories.
-
Do you use Ubuntu or Kubuntu? Gnome or KDE?
-
I'm not sure. I downloaded it off Ubuntu's website.
-
(you're using ubuntu, so you're running Gnome)
Where do you click to access the package manager? Do you use Synaptic? -
Yes I used Synaptic.
-
Start Synaptic and click on Settings-->Repositories
Then you can add/enable repositories so it gives you a bigger selection of packages

Automatix ( http://www.getautomatix.com/) could also be an alternative to easily install popular/rare software on Ubuntu
