Woohoo! After about a week of much trial, error & lack of sleep, I've finally gotta fully functional Japanese WinXP Pro / English Ubuntu w/ Japanese input (boy, that was a fun set up) dual boot beast! And Beryl? WOW![]()
The only thing that's giving me issues now is my Logitech V400 mouse. Any tips for getting all the buttons to work like they should? I.e. back/forward & the side scroll?
After playing w/ imwheel -c, for some reason the scroll wheel is functioning like a back/forward button now.![]()
Thanks in advance,

System > Preferences > Mouse ?
That menu doesn't give me a lot of features, though. I'd say look into getting a third party program that can handle mouse control at a greater level. My guess is that you have found a weakness...there probably isn't much you can do (outside of preparing your own driver for it) -
I too can't get the "press down on wheel and scroll freely function" on my desktop mouse. The scroller wheel works fine though.

getting the mouse fully functional will necessitate getting up to your elbows in your xorg.conf and possibly udev rules.
here were my experiences getting my v450 working. I realize it's a different mouse, but it may be of some use to you, I also link to various tutorials I found along my way.

Well, that was odd...
I restarted X (i.e. ctrl+alt+back space) and all was well again. I've restarted multiple times since and it seems to work fine now. Go figure.
As far as the tilt wheel, that's more of a luxury item to me, so I guess I can live w/out borking my xorg.conf anymore than I already have for the time being (trying to get Beryl and my nvidia GeForce Go 7400 to play nice w/ each other has made me a bit weary of playing w/ that file for a while) -
I guess it would be if you have back/forward buttons... that's how I use it with Firefox.

I bought a V450 today, since my old mouse died. Now I know why people spend money on Logitech mice...they are really great products.
Anyway, it worked out of the box with Edgy. The scroll wheel works, but the tilt wheel axis does not. I have looked into this matter a bit more in detail, and found a helpful thread on the Ubuntu Forums. I will let you know if the guide(s) help to map the new axis to bindings.
